Rooms of Hope, Beards and Brews Charity Event, 2018-2019

A volunteer project I was fortunate to be a part of for two years running, was the First Street Alehouse Beards and Brews Event to support Rooms of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides dream room makeovers to children fighting life-threatening illnesses. 

Beards and Brews is quite the elaborate event, as it starts with a beard growing kick-off  for “no-shave November” where volunteers sign up to grow their beards and get sponsors to support Rooms of Hope. The kick-off event shares information all about Rooms of Hope and their mission to inspire beard growers. The restaurant, First Street Alehouse also encourages patrons to add a donation to their bill and support their giving Tuesday initiative, where restaurant owners and managers serve tables and donate all tips to the organization.

In December the finale commences at a large local event celebrating the volunteer beard growers and local businesses donate services for their auction.

To support all aspects of this complex event I have designed posters, menu inserts, postcards, business cards, apparel designs, event graphics, and more. While it takes months of planning and hard work the event is always a success and the photos of children enjoying their new rooms is the greatest reward.
